We stayed at The Chapter Kyoto, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel during a family trip to Kyoto, and it was a truly memorable experience from start to finish. Kyoto itself is a place full of charm, where new and modern architecture blends beautifully with history. Everywhere you look there are stunning temples, traditional houses, charming streets, and lively food markets offering an amazing and wide variety of local food. Visiting during Christmas made the trip even more special—the cold weather added a magical and cozy atmosphere to the city.
From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we felt welcomed. The lobby immediately stands out with its beautiful architectural design and elegant entrance. There is a lovely seating area that invites you to relax, decorated with Japanese letters and cultural elements. The hotel also features a dedicated space for Japanese art exhibitions, which adds a unique cultural touch, as well as a stamp room that reflects Kyoto’s traditional stamp culture—something we really enjoyed exploring as a family.
Our Room was located upstairs and was spacious, cozy, and very comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable, perfect for resting after long days of sightseeing. The room also included a sofa for relaxing and traditional tatami flooring, which added an authentic Japanese feel to the stay. The bathroom was very practical and well-designed, stocked with high-quality Japanese toiletry products that made the experience feel even more special and thoughtful.
Breakfast at Chapter The Grill is a delightful and well-rounded experience, offering both international and Japanese dining options in a serene, beautifully designed setting. Guests can choose from a variety of Japanese breakfast items, including traditional dishes that highlight fresh, seasonal ingredients, alongside familiar Western favorites.
The breakfast spread includes eggs prepared in different styles to suit individual preferences, making it easy for both adults and children to enjoy. Families will appreciate the dedicated kids’ corner, thoughtfully arranged with kid-friendly meal.
What truly enhances the experience is the calm and refined ambience of the restaurant. The peaceful atmosphere, soft lighting, and elegant décor create a relaxing start to the day, making breakfast at The Chapter Kyoto not just a meal, but a memorable part of the stay.
Inside The Chapter Kyoto, guests can enjoy Chapter No Yu, a traditional Japanese-style public bath that uses pure and abundant spring water, providing a peaceful and rejuvenating experience after a day of exploring Kyoto.
